New Domain Verification for ACME
(July 12, 2026) The management of organizations for ACME, which we added to the customer administration in the spring, has been expanded with the domain verification function. You can thus request OV and EV certificates via ACME with the assurance that both organization and domain verification are already active.
Feature for Organization and Domain Pre-validation
Through the ACME protocol, you can obtain OV/EV certificates automatically provided that the applicant's organization and the ordered domains are already verified; this is so-called pre-verification/pre-validation. In the customer account, in the ACME access management, besides OV/EV organization pre-verification, you can now initiate domain pre-validation. We believe this improvement will further facilitate the automation of certificate issuance for you.
How to initiate domain verification?
In the ACME Access Management under the Domains tab, by clicking the Add Domain button, you can add a new domain to the selected organization, choose whether it should be OV or EV validation, and of course, select the method of verifying this newly added domain. This will generate a new verification token, which will be displayed in the domain overview, and once you set it depending on the selected DCV method, DigiCert will verify the domain. You can also change the chosen domain verification method retrospectively by clicking on Settings. You will be informed of the successful domain verification by a green domain status symbol as well as the date until which the verification is valid.
