Recommended certificate use
We recommend using GeoTrust Standard DV certificate when you need to obtain the certificate quickly. It is commonly used for intranet, internal corporate systems or in smaller web projects where company verification (for which the TLS certificate was issued) is not necessary. It can secure up to 250 domains on an unlimited number of servers.
If you need a higher trust and authentication, we recommend using an EV certificate (Extended Validation) or OV certificate (Organization Validation).

FAQ - frequently asked questions
A Wildcard certificate secures all subdomains at the position of the asterisk. Wildcards are typically used to secure 3rd-level subdomains. For example, a certificate for *.zoner.com will secure mail.zoner.com, posta.zoner.com and other subdomains.
If the Wildcard certificate is issued for a 3L domain such as *.zoner.com, it also secures the 2L domain zoner.com. If the asterisk is placed on a lower-level domain, the same applies and the main domain will be included in the certificate.
For a Wildcard certificate the CSR is created for the domain including the asterisk, e.g. *.zoner.com. The asterisk represents any future subdomains, of which there can be an unlimited number.
You can create the CSR directly in your SSLmarket order, saving yourself the work. The CSR is generated so that it matches the specific order.
It IS possible to add additional paid SANs to a Wildcard certificate. You can combine both the asterisk form (Wildcard) and the regular domain form (FQDN). Adding SANs is completely flexible.
