FIDO2 and Passkeys - New Account Security Options

(March 16, 2026) We have added support for modern multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods to the SSLmarket administration. Users can now choose between standard 2FA (OTP code) and FIDO2 cryptographic security.

SSLmarket Login Security

The existing security options, such as two-factor authentication (OTP) and login through Google or Microsoft accounts, have now been expanded with the modern FIDO2 standard. This method offers a higher level of protection against phishing and enables completely passwordless access to an SSLmarket account. It uses cryptographic confirmation directly on your device to verify identity, eliminating the need to enter one-time codes from applications.

Supported Login Methods:

  • FIDO2 MFA (Passkeys): The highest level of security resistant to phishing. Allows passwordless login. You can use:
    • PCs and Laptops: Windows Hello (face, fingerprint, PIN) or macOS (Touch ID).
    • Smartphones: Biometric verification (FaceID, fingerprint).
    • Hardware tokens: Devices like YubiKey, Nitrokey, or other FIDO2 tokens.
    • Password Managers: Modern tools like 1Password, Bitwarden, or Dashlane.
  • OTP (2FA): Classic one-time codes from applications (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.).

How to Activate the New Feature:

You will find the option to enable this feature after logging into your SSLmarket account in the Security section. There you can add any number of devices and methods for login using Passkey.
